SQL Plus hangs up at intializing

Hi,
We are using an automated tool(WinRunner) to run the SQL queries through PL/SQL developer and I am having a problem with this SQL where after clicking the OK button at the Variables window SQL Plus gives a message 'Initializing' in the status Window and then hangs up .
This problem does not occur when I run the SQL manually.

When you say SQL Plus, do you really mean Oracle's SQL*Plus utility?

Sorry I meant to say PL/SQL developer

It would seem that the SQL Window (which I assume you are using) does not know that the Variables window has been closed. How do you close it in WinRunner?
