Request: Bug / Enhancement Request Tracking

Hi,

In countless forum topics, we see the response "We'll fix it" or "This is on the enhancement request list".

Is it about time that we get an issue tracking system where these issues can be recorded and the progress monitored ?

I find myself having to reply to forum topics just to get an update on a possible bug, or enhancement.

Does this sound like a sensible request ?
Maybe there is such a system used internally that can be exposed to this community ?
Maybe I'm missing something ?
