I have a question related to the next version(s) of PL/SQL Developer. I have seen feature requests/ bugs requested/ reported on this forum, but never addressed in a subsequent version.
I know of other features/ bugs that have been reported by myself or others that seem to be long standing issues. Here are some examples:
- beautifier doesn't handle MERGE + WITH well
- RETURNING doesn't beautify "correctly"
- nested queries with a CASE statement in the ORDER BY will cause the beautifier to crash
- occasionally the horizontal scroll will not allow you to go all the way back to the left of side of the document
- resizing the window (like moving between monitors) will sometimes lose the result grid if the new resolution is less than the screen you started from
Is there a list of what will be included in the next version? What is the correct process for reporting bugs/ requesting features? I've tried posting here. Nothing. I've tried emailing support. Nothing again. Most of the time we will get a comment saying something was added to a list, but then, nothing.
I find the most lacking component to be the beautifier. It's been 3 versions probably since it was enhanced at all. We haven't seen an update to the bundled list of keywords that were added in newer versions of Oracle (CONTINUE for example). I know it can be fixed manually, but that isn't the point.
Posting in the forums to suggest these things seems to be a black hole. As a long time user of PL/SQL Developer I've gotten a little frustrated at the process. Is there a public bug/ enhancement list? Can it be voted on by users?
