Please make the new file dialogs optional!

I'm currently working with beta5 and always notice that the new file open/save dialogs are sometimes painfully slow! :(
Up until now I did not find anything in the new dialogs that would really benefit me as a user, so please make them optional.
In my opinion it is almost never a good idea to replace a system dialog, there are far more productive ways to spend your time...

+ 1 from me.

The new file dialog is quite slow to open and has many errors on my setup. E.g. nearly all my file and folder icons are missing, the list of files I get when typing is slow and can show wrong files (!) and/or is not showing newly saved files etc.

So please make it optional whether to use the old or new.

Beta 9, problems with new file dialog still exist.

File and folder icons are still missing, and when shifting between different directories to save files, file names from other directories are shown when beginning to type a file name.
Only file names in the current directory matching the partially types file name, must be displayed in the drop-down list. This is a way to ensure that you are not overwriting existing files, and that files are already saved.

We have fixed the directory drop-down list error.

Can you let me know when icons start to disappear for you? Is this after hours of work? Or does this issue occur more quickly?

File Dialog history list could include files from previous directories
Seems to not be a problem anymore in beta 10.

There are still some issues, though:

1) Delayed show of newly created files in file list dropdown:
I open a new sql window. I write some text and save the file as 'file1.sql' in a directory called 'SQL'.
I choose Save As and begin to write fil... ind the dialog, but nothing is shown in the dropdown list, even if I can see the file in the list above. I name the file file2.sql and save.

I type some more in the file and select Save As and save a file file3.sql in a new directory SQL2.

I type some more in the file and select Save As and select the old SQL directory and begin to type fil....
Now fil1.sql and file2.sql are shown in the dropdown list. It seems like the file names in the dropdown are only refreshed when the directory is changed.

This behaviour should be fixed.

2) Files shown in the dropdown are dependant of the selected file type
If I select SQL script (*.sql) as file type, other files like file1.pck are not shown in the dropdown, even if they match the file name I type. In 'normal' Windows file dialogs, this is the case, all files matching the name are shown, disregarding suggested file type/extension.

Please fix this as well.

3) Missing icons
The missing icons happen right away. I open PLD (do not log on), open a file using the dialog (it takes a while), the icons are shown for a second and then disappear. If I scroll down in a list with many files, the icons for the 'new' files can shortly be seen while I scroll, but after scrolling is done, they are gone again.
The strange thing is, that it is always the same directory icons, that are visible and always the same file icons that a visible (and always the same that are not shown).
I can send a new screenshot to support (and maybe a video) but I do not know if that helps.

We'll check out 1 and 2.

For 3: If you can send me a screenshot with and without the icons, maybe that will help.
