Package state and test window

I have a Program Window open and make changes to a database package script and compile it. I then switch to my already opened test window and I run the test script. The test window takes a long time (as much as 7 minutes) to come back and give me the "ORA-040608 - Existing state of packages has been discarded" message. Outside of closing my test window and opening it back up, is there any way to "refresh" the test window to avoid the long delay?

The delay is most likely caused by implicit recompilation of invalid objects. I'm not sure if there is anything we can do about this.
