Since there seems to be no "meta" category of the forum, I'm posting this here.
I'm not a legal expert, but this part of the "Terms and rules" that I'm forced to accept when registering for an account here (https://forums.allroundautomations.com/help/terms/) seems weird:
"These terms may be changed at any time without notice."
Lots of terms of various services have similar clauses, but this is way more general than normally.
Firstly, it doesn't say who can change the terms or how. So I have now, alone in my room, said out loud: "I hereby change the terms so that I have all the rights and no obligations and responsibilities.", except in German and while nobody heard me. Surely this isn't meant to be valid, but by how it's written, it would have to be! Even without me posting about it here, since I don't need to give notice.
Secondly, I doubt that this is legal. It's basically a blank cheque that would allow you to do whatever you want. You could add a clause tomorrow that forces everyone to do a handstand whenever they read the forum and it would take effect immediately while nobody knows about it. I'm pretty sure there are legal limitations of how much ahead of changes you need to notify everyone affected by them, to give people time to object to the changes or close their accounts. In the worst case, this sentence might even count as an illegal clause that invalidates the entire contract.
