I have set up PLD 64 bit on a freshly installed Windows 10 machine. The default font for SQL grid seems to be Segoe UI, size 9, this is what is shown in Tools -> Preferences -> Fonts -> Grid.
The problem is that this font seems to squeeze letter groups like AT, FA, TO, VA, PA, LV.
An example: try to edit e.g. table DEPT on scott/tiger and write the following in column DNAME: FATATOVAPAFALV
Notice how the visual cursor does not follow logical. It seems wrongly that there are spaces after the text. When the text is marked, the spacing is increased so each letter has its own 'place' horisontally.
It can be visualised very easily if you go to the last character (press End) and then Shift-Left: the spacing of the entire text is changed. Shift-Right removes the marking and the text is compressed again.
The main problem is that the visual cursor and the logical cursor are out of sync. This can be seen if the cursor is placed in the middle of the last V and press delete: the letter L is deleted.
The text string VAVAVAVAVAVAVA illustrates the problem to its extreme.
Please change PLD to use default font e.g. Microsoft Sans Serif or a similar font that does not have this problem.
