By default we link all our C++ Builder 5 applications with the free version of DOA Oracle Monitor. It works fine most of the time.
However one customer has a Windows2000 SP2 machine with Oracle 8.0.5. At boot time about 20-40 processes of the same .EXE File are started. Still no problem. After a couple of days this changes: when trying to start either any .EXE file with OracleMonitor support or to start the monitor itself, Dr. Watson gets called and a message indicates that the program has generated an error (access violation).
The problem is very anoying since only a reboot solves this. This is a life system!!!
The crash occurs in function "Oraclemonitor"
Q: Can this be caused by a lack of shared memory? Some "expert" was trying to tune oracle lately.
Thank you for any hint.
Regards,
Gino Crepaldi
