Upgrade from PLSQL 7.x to 8.x - Preferences File

Hi,
i've some question on the upgrade from ver. 7.x to 8.x.

does the preferencce file for 7.x is compatible with 8.x?

can i backup the 7.x preference file and then copy it into the new installed version?

example:
1. before uninstall vers. 7.x, i backup my preference folder.
2. uninstall vers. 7.0.
3. install vers. 8.0.
4. copy back my preference folder which i've backup earlier.

add on:
if v7.0 preference file cannot directly copy into new v8.0 directory, any other option to migrate the settings without any problem?

If you install 8.0 over 7.x, all preferences will be preserved.
