I have been approach by upper management to compare TOAD vs PL SQL/Developer.

I have explained everything and PL SQL Developer looks better but the new version of TOAD will have a very nice tuning option.

Is there something similar for future PLSQL Developer releases?

With this tuning option the developer will get different select statement possibilities list where the developer can choose one.

We do not have any short term plans for such a feature. There are of course many ways to tune your SQL statements, but you have to create those statements yourself.

I'd say that the difference in cost of the products far exceeds the benefit you get from the facility you describe.

You can pretty much replace TOAD's functionality with a list of steps for each developer to try.

Sorry,
but what for heavens sake should be implemented in a pl/sql tool?
If Quest continues they will use TOAD instead of Oracle Enterprisemanager. And in the next version TOAD is able to handle tuned coffee for the developers!
