text file under project

Can a text file be part of project listed under project items ?
It would be nice to associate text file such as requirement with a project.

and .doc files and .xls files and ...

It is currently not possible, but it is on our to-do list. When opening such a project item , it will launch the associated application (e.g. notepad, ms word, ms excel).
