Restore lost connection

Hi,

I'd like to request an option to automatically restore a lost connection. Frequently, my laptop will lose its wireless connection for a second. To demonstrate the problem:

  • 1. Log on to a session.
    2. Expand the tables node in the browser
    3. Unplug your network cable (to simulate the wireless drop)
    4. Scroll through the tables until you find the one you want, right click, and select Query data. At this point you'll get errors messages such as 'Not Logged On' and 'TNS:packet writer failure'.
    5. Re-log on. At this point, the browser tree is refreshed and fully collapsed.
    6. Re-expand the tables node in the browser and scroll again.

I have added this to the list of enhancement requests. Note that you can already enable the "Check connection" preference, so that PL/SQL Developer will check if the session is still alive. This way it will properly recover from a lost network connection or an instance shutdown. The browser will still be collapsed though.

Hy,

how about a function like "Keep Alive"?
We have often a connect via RAS and timeouts when a long time (some minutes) nothing done.
So we lost the connection to DB.

Thanks in advance
