Query Related to Describe table

Hi all,
Can any one tell me why table description dosent work in PL/SQL editor.

DESC Table name and Select Execute button from menu bar(it doesn't work). While if you right click and select describe, it works. Can anyone tell me about this.

DESC [TABLE]

is a SQL*Plus command and only works as a command in the Command Window, not in the SQL Window.
