Program window: pressing Ctrl key while mouse is hovering over e.g. variable, causes screen flicker

I am editing a package in a program window. When the mouse pointer is hovering over e.g. a variable, parameter, method or similar, pressing the Ctrl key (to prepare hyperlink) causes the code on the screen to flicker. It looks like PLD is moving the cursor very quickly through the code or something like it.

When holding the mouse cursor over some code and pressing Ctrl to hyperlink, the same thing happens.

Not a high priority for my part, but if it is an easy fix, then it is OK.
