I am experiencing a problem with the Preference Sets -- I would like to configure the key configuration based on the database that I am on (to prevent accidentally compiling on the live system). I followed the instructions in the help section, creating a new personal preference , then defining the connection ( *@dba1 ) for all users of that DB.
There are two problems:
1. When I change the key configuration on an item (ie. proflie A -- ctrl-alt-5 for new sql window), and then change profiles and set the same key sequence for a different action ( profile B -- ctrl-alt-5 for new report window ), the last saved key configuration seems to override all other profiles, no matter where I put it in order of precidence on the preference set ( ctrl-alt-5 is now always a new report window ). I can see the ini files are saved the pl/sql \preferences\username directory, and viewing the preferences tab shows the appropriate changes.
2. When closing pl/sql developer and opening again, none of the new personal preference profiles are loaded. They are displayed properly, but clicking on the preferences tab for each one shows nothing. The ini files still exist, and have the correct information, but it appears they are not being loaded properly.
Let me know if you need more info... your assistance is appreciated.
Regards, Joel
