PL/SQL Developer not displaying window

I'm running Windows 7 64-bit and most of the time PL/SQL Developer starts up fine and works without issues.

Sometimes, however, I click on the PL/SQL Developer icon, it highlights as it is starting, then the highlighting goes away but no window appears (login or otherwise, no splash screen even). If I check task manager, it shows as a running process, but I have no windows to work with.

I am running version 9.0.6.1665.

That is odd. Do you perhaps have a multi-monitor setup?

We used to have this issue with PSD7 with Windows XP. But on XP, it could be solved, AFAICR by clicking one of the task menu items (maybe "Restore") or minimizing all other windows.

I have a dual monitor setup, with only the task bar on the primary screen. The icon does not show on the task bar as well as there being no window to use. After rebooting several times, the program does tend to function correctly for a few days or even a week, but then the problem comes back.

There is nothing to restore as there is no window anywhere for this program. In task manager, I see the plsqldev.exe in the Processes tab, but there is no corresponding entry on the Applications tab when the problem is occurring.

To obtain some more diagnostic information, can you modify the shortcut and add the DebugSQL parameter? For example:

"C:\Program Files\PLSQL Developer\plsqldev.exe" DebugSQL

Reproduce the problem and send me the debug.txt file that is generated in the PL/SQL Developer directory or in the %APPDATA%\PLSQL Developer directory (e.g. C:\Users\\AppData\Roaming\PLSQL Developer).

This morning the problem resurfaced. I have modified the shortcut as described, but I am getting absolutely no debug.txt file.

Can you go to Help > Support Info and send me the information from the "Info" tab page?

Is there a file that contains it? I am stuck again and will probably need to reboot at least 5 times before I can access it through the windows.

After one reboot I am able to get to the windows now. I'll copy the info into an email and send it to you.
