Password Verify Function

Hi,

I have created a profile with the Password Verify function set to a function which accepts the old password, new password and the username.
But when i call the Alter user with the username and the new password it gives me an error invalid no of parameter to the Password Verify function.

The question is how the oldpassword is passed to the password verify function since the alter user does not take the old password
