ORA-12170: TNS:Connect timeout occurred with 10g

Hi,

after installing 10g on Win7 i cannot get PL/SQL Developer to connect with Oracle. It is giving me:

ORA-12170: TNS:Connect timeout occurred

I am able to TNSPING to the database and SQL*Plus is also working.

In Preferences => Connection => Oracle Home is can select the Oracle home, but this is not saved. (Next time I start it is gone).

Anyone an idea?

I'm not sure why this error occurs. Can you update to an Oracle11g client and try again?

Hi Marco,

I have installed a Virtual Machine running XP mode (for Oracle Reports&Forms) and installed 10g on that as well. PL/SQL Developer runs fine there. Maybe the combination Win7 & 10g gives me the problems. I'll try to install 11g. Thanks.
