ORA-12154 on windows 7 sp1 x64

Hi,
I have PL SQL developer Version 9.0.6.1665
Will the 12g client (either x86 or x64) work with it? or do i have to go back to 11g client?

What is the minimal install of the oracle client required for PL/SQL developer?

On Windows 7 you can use a 32 Bit Oracle 11g or 12c client.

The ORA-12154 error can have several causes. Can you go to Help > Support Info and copy the information from the "Info" tab page?

turns out it was a firewall issue. I was able to connect now. Thanks Marco

Just to confirm that the minimum PL/SQL developer requires is the Oracle Instant Client?

An Oracle Instant Client is indeed the minimum requirement.
