New website design

Glad to see that you undertook a design refresh (old one was looking pretty dated), but I have one serious issue with the new look. The header/menu area consumes more than half of the usable page area with my browser/resolution setup. The content that I want to actually see is restricted to about 40% of the total page area, taking the frameset and center-justified design into account. Not a real efficient use of screen real estate, IMHO.

I am sending a screen shot of the new site to support - there is a large amount of gray space near the top that forces the area at the bottom where it says PL/SQL Developer and Direct Oracle Access.

OK, as Marco pointed out, for some reason I had to do a ctrl-refresh to see all of the new design.

I do agree with jlcox that the top part of the page takes to much space. In the current layout I can't even read most of the postings in one 'peek', but have to scroll down. The new look is good, but the allroundautomations banner at the top of the page could do with a visit to weightwatchers ;-)

We'll reduce the size of the header shortly. It is indeed too large for smaller screen resolutions.

Can you look at the width also?

Now I lose more then one half of my screen to some meaningless borders....

If you like the borders, make them fixed and let the rest expand.

My screen width is 1920, but meaningful width is limited to 935. (48,7% is used)

I like the new design but variable width is very nice. With my corporate laptop at 1440x900 the content only fills 65% of the screen vertically.

Looking forward to the header block beeing reduced, but without frames this would not be the same issue as you can scroll the whole page.

Tip:
Open the forum frame in its own tab or windows. Then you get variable width and no header block.

I have been a long-time loyal user and been around this forum for a while....so I feel compeled to say:

Sorry the new design sucks.

Jesus H Christ ! so much wasted spaces....top, left and right....at least 50%....those HUGE tabs...are you kidding me ?!?!?!

And what is it with so many sites these days doing this stupid thing going by this lame "personal blog page" design ???????

You guys didn't pay someone for this new layout, did you ?...if you did, put on one of those wooden Dutch clogs and kick him in the nuts !

We have updated the header part to give more space to the body. Things should look fine now.
