A long time ago....
The problem with the macro was written here.

Today it was annoying me :( and i had to report it again.

Problem:
Recording a macro with F11, then the system hangs. You have to hit ctrl_alt_del and then you can continue.

What I figered out is that, if there is an application running what is also hooked to that key-event, you have problems.

Now it was lotus-notes. F11 responses to "New mail"
Stopping that programm resolve te problem.
Using 7.0.3.1123 ORA: 10.2

thx

It was Java Update Check and its Scheduler causing the same on my machine.

Killing jucheck.exe and jusched.exe processes solved the problem for me.

I thought I'd share ..

Is this a real Java Update Checker, or is it perhaps a spyware/malware process, camouflaged as jucheck.exe?

I have the same problem. When Java update checker works then system hange on recording macro (very often but not always) When system is hanged I can show Windows Task Manager window, but I cannot make any action (using mouse or keyboard) on them. Only solution I found is log on to another user and kill plsqldev process from Task Manager.

There is no problem when Java Update Checker (jusched.exe v. 6.0.50.13 or other) is not loaded.
