Location of .ini and .prefs files

We use a network installation for PSD and we have one user who somehow runs from a default.ini on the server but a user.prefs on his PC in the Application Data directory. He is running XP SP3 and I verified the file locations within "Support Info".

And ideas how this happened and where to fix it?

This happens if the network directory is not writable for the user. The preference files will then be stored in the application data directory on the PC.

To fix this, make sure that the network directory is writable for the user and move the preference files from the application data directory to the network directory.
