I'm having to change my connection to a diff database in two places.

Anyone know why when I select the KEY icon on the upper left to change database connections that I also have to select the CHANGE CONNECTION down arrow at the bottom too? I'm having to do it in both places.

Example, I'm connected to database C. I select the drop down from the key icon and select database A and login but at the bottom there is a drop down arrow next that still shows that I'm connected to database C.

I used to have a similar-sounding problem with version 10 and it apparently got fixed in version 11. See this thread for more info.

Maybe you window's connection is pinned?
Any why do you go for key icon?

As IvanZ said, check your connection pinning settings (e.g. Tools / Preferences / Oracle / Connection / Multiple Connections / Pin window connections by default).
If a window has the connection pinned, then it's connection will not be switched when the main connection is changed.

If you do not use multiple connection functionality at all, you may consider switching off the option to "Allow multiple connections".
