Hello,
I would like to propose a small usability improvement regarding the Edit Data feature.
When using the context menu option "Edit Data" on a table, the application opens a query window that allows direct editing of table records. This is a very useful feature for quick data corrections.
However, during data editing in this view, the text conversion functions (uppercase / lowercase) do not work.
I tested two methods:
Enabling these existing text transformation functions in Edit Data mode would improve efficiency and consistency when performing quick data fixes.
Thank you for considering this improvement.
Best regards,
Adrian
I would like to propose a small usability improvement regarding the Edit Data feature.
When using the context menu option "Edit Data" on a table, the application opens a query window that allows direct editing of table records. This is a very useful feature for quick data corrections.
However, during data editing in this view, the text conversion functions (uppercase / lowercase) do not work.
I tested two methods:
- Keyboard shortcut for converting selected text to uppercase — no effect.
- Using the Edit → Selection → Uppercase/Lowercase buttons from the ribbon — also no effect.
Expected behavior
Text conversion functions should work on selected text in editable cells within the Edit Data result grid, just as they do in other text-editing contexts inside the application. Why this would be useful
When correcting data directly in the table grid, it is common to normalize text values (for example converting codes, identifiers, or names to uppercase). Currently this requires manual retyping, which is slower and more error-prone.Enabling these existing text transformation functions in Edit Data mode would improve efficiency and consistency when performing quick data fixes.
Thank you for considering this improvement.
Best regards,
Adrian
