Export User Objects : package header AND body in .pck file

Hi,

I have a request for the "Export User Objects" feature : it would be very useful to be able to save both the header and the body of a a package in a single .pck file, which would match the way we save a package code to the file system using the "save as" function in a program window.

That way, the file is the same whatever the way your export or save it !

V6 is great btw !

Thanks in advance,

Nicolas

I also would like to be able to export both the spec and the body in one step!!! i.e. Select the name of the package and export. It seems that the way it works now, I have to first select the spec or body, then find and select the corresponding body or spec, then export. This is rather tedious.
thanks!

If you export just one package like this, you can alternatively select "Edit Spec & Body" in the Object Browser and save it. This does not help if you need to export many packages of course.

A related request:
It's great having the spec & body open together. However, it'd be nice to be able to only compile the body, so referencing objects don't need to be recompiled. And be able to save just the body (from the editor), so it can be used for the production release.

Marco,

Is the suggestion from NGielen (the start of the thread) implemented in the current release?
If not, is there a patch for PLD that could solve that problem right away?

Thanks,

I guess I should have mentioned that I would like to use this functionality and I do not see an option to do so.
:)

Also can the table scripts be changed to be saved as .pdc?
Or maybe give an option to the user in the settings as to how he wants to handle the exported files.

Thanks,
Waiting for 8.0 ......
