Wouldn't it be nice to have a button or menu option or both to turn a (piece of) editor's content into a template?
Sometimes I created a query or piece of script and then I have to add a template to a specific template folder. Then I have to figure out what the window-type-prefix was to get the right type of editor to start when creating a new editor window based on that template.
When I'm in an editor and select a piece of code Pl/Sql developer would know in what type of window I'm in and only has to provide me the choice in what directory the template to place in. Then it would be able to create the template with the right format (window-type-prefixed).
Also the create/modify template editor has very little editing possibilities (no code completion or what-o-ever). So wouldn't it be nice that when the template is prefixed with a window-type, the appropriate editor is opened when modifying the template? It might not be executable (since it has template-code in it), but you could leverage the editor built-ins.
