Connection Error: ORA-12514: TNS:could not resolve the connect identifier

Hi there,

I downloaded the evaluation version a week back and now I am having connection issues. I am trying to connect to remote database using PLSQL Developer and I am getting following error:

ORA-12514: TNS:could not resolve the connect identifier specified.

Here are the parameters I am giving:
username,password, Database, connect as.

I am placing all values correctly. Using the same credentials + host name and port no, I can connect to remote database using JDeveloper.

Please guide how to fix this error? Can I specify host name and port for connection?

Maybe this is an environment problem. Can you go to Help > Support Info, press the 'Copy all pages' button on this info screen, and paste this text into an e-mail reply?
