Conflict between Cognitas Crosslink and PL/SQL Developer

Guys,

I'm currently doing some work for a remote site and I'm using Cognitas Crosslink to connect into their network. I think I'm having a conflict of ports, but the error message returned is not ideal.

When launching pl/sql developer I get the following error:

"The application failed to initialize properly (0x0000007b). Click on OK to terminate the application."

Usually an option would be available to allow an app to "tunnel" through, but not in this case. I've double checked the Crosslink control panel and even added developer as a tunnel-able app (ok, I made that last word up!), but no dice...

Any thoughts/recommendations would be very much appreciated.

To obtain some more diagnostic information, can you modify the shortcut and add the debugsql parameter? For example:

"C:\Program Files\PLSQL Developer\plsqldev.exe" debugsql

Reproduce the problem and send me the debug.txt file that is generated in the PL/SQL Developer directory.

Thanks for your response.

I have narrowed the issue down to 2 things.

1) PL/SQL Developer won't work with CrossLink when there is a particular version of Symantec Endpoint Protection running. Not sure which version, but I was "downgraded" by my desktop support team to another version of SEP and the error message has now disappeared.

2) PL/SQL Developer doesn't have a "Launch in App Tunnel" option when right clicking as most other apps do. I think this is probably an issue with CrossLink more than with Developer mind you, but if anyone has an answer to this issue it would be much appreciated.

I've tried adding PL/SQL Developer to the "Manage Tunnelled Applications" list, but it keeps disappearing...very strange, anyway that's a question for another forum.
