Can't CTRL+Arrow key

For some reason I can't use CTRL+arrow key (left, right, up or down) to select words or ranges of text. I am using VMWare workstation to run PL/SQL Developer, but other apps running do not have this limitation. Version 6.0.4.906 01.20334

ctl + shift + arrow does the selecting on my system.

ctl + arrow just moves between words in the line

You should probably go to Tools > Preferences > Key configration and check if "Editor: Word Left" and "Editor: Word Right" are assigned correctly.
