Cannot Connect

After loading the latest W2K security update and installing Windows Media Player, PL/SQL Developer will no longer connect to my Oracle database. The login fails and displays a one inch square window without any information. I have removed both the update and Media Player, removed and reinstalled PL/SQL Developer and rebooted the system. The problems remains. Anyone have a suggestion.

I'm just guessing, but maybe it's a firewall issue? Are you using local firewall software that you can disable as a test?

Not using any local firewall software. I am able to connect to the Oracle database using SQL Plus.

Can you go to Help > About, press the 'Info' button, press the 'Copy all pages' button on this info screen, and paste this text into an e-mail reply?

Windows XP SP2 includes a basic firewall and turns it on by default. Could that also be in the "W2K security update" you just installed?

I have been having the same issue. It started on 12-6, and I have not yet been able to figure out a solution. jghand - have you had any luck getting this resolved ?
