Browser - Foreign key references icons?

While in the Tables folder/branch of the Browser, I opened a table and the folder under it called "Foreign key references". For this table I have seven entries. Next to each item is a small icon. 4 have a grey checkbox, 3 have a black checkbox. What is the difference?

I thought I had once seen a help page listing the icons used in the UI, but I can't seem to find it - if in fact it was ever there.

black - enabled foreign keys.
grey - disabled foreign keys.
