Upgraded to PL/SQL Developer Version 7.1.2.1363 on Windows XP Professional 5.1 Build 2600 Service Pack 1.

I have the Preferences/Debugger 'show variable values in popup' checked on.

I've tried changing focus to another window then returning to debugger, no go.

Hovering over variables while in debugger has completely stopped. Help.

I also have 'add debug info when compiling' checked on as well.

Is this reproducible? If so, to obtain some more diagnostic information, can you modify the shortcut and add the debugsql parameter? For example:

"C:\Program Files\PLSQL Developer\plsqldev.exe" debugsql

Reproduce the problem and send me the debug.txt file that is generated in the PL/SQL Developer directory.

Oh my god Marco, I was doing your debugsql suggestion, started up a new PLSD with that setting, went into the same exact instance and package as I did yesterday, and now the hover is working. I did not cold-boot my PC. Yesterday when the hover stopped working, I did exit PLSD and start up a new PLSD application. But hover still didn't work.

Well it's working now. I doubt you want my debug file, so won't bother you with it.

Thanks. I've added the debugsql switch as a short-cut in case it happens again I will know what I need to do to provide more information.

I have seen the debug hover stop working, but I seem to recall that it is usually fine after restarting PL/SQL Developer.

It seems to stop during a debug session; it might be related to hovering over some 'unusual' variables. I seem to recall it occasionally stopping when I was in a procedure using a record with 'bad' column names, like 'TYPE' or 'NAME' or some other reserved or unusual words (hey, *I* didn't design the tables! 8-) ).

Hi, I'm facing the same problem, but after add the debugsql on shortcut path, nothing change, still not displaying variables value on popup

Noticed the same thing occasionally in version 13, maybe once every couple of months so not sure what triggers this, but restart fixes it for me.
