Maybe somebody can tell me what I'm doing wrong.

I've had this issue for years now, but finally got annoyed enough to seek help smile

If my computer wakes up from sleepmode, obviously plsql developer has lost its connection(s) to the database(s). Completely understandable.
So I try to reconnect.
But when I do, most of the time (oddly enough not always, haven't noticed a pattern yet) all windows are correctly reconnected, but the Object Browser isn't frown

After reconnecting I can use all open windows normally, but when I try to expand a node in the object browser I get an "ORA-03114: not connected to Oracle".

Funny thing:
When in the situation described above (reconnected, object browser says "not connected") I open a new SQL Window and execute any query (select * from dual will do fine) then suddenly the object browser is also reconnected.
Executing a query in an already open window will not do this trick, and just openinig a new SQL Window is not enough.

This happens whether I try "Session - Set Main Connection" from the ribbon or "Reconnect All Windows" from the right-click menu in the connections list, or using the reconnect plugin from Bar Solutions.

It might be a bug, it might be some stupid setting I use.
Fact is I've experienced this for as long as I can remember, so in a lot of versions.
Never heard anybody else about this, so coould very well be one of my settings, or I'm the only one who sleeps his computer with plsql developer still open smile

I have found something similar, but I now explicity disconnect all before I reconnect. This generally works for me

Thanks. It's good to know that a) I'm not the only one and b) there's more than one workaround (though I'm not at my computer now so can't check right now if this also works for me)

But I was more looking for either a "yes this is a bug and we're going to fix it" or a "you're stupid, change setting x and all is fixed".

If anyone is experiencing similar problems to what I described above:

Bar Solutions released a new version of the Reconnect Plugin.
This new version *does* also reconnect the browser window, so problem solved!
It also has some more reconnect types.

Thanks Patrick for solving this issue I had!

Check it out:
