Create a new Browser folder,
1. Do not put a where condition
2. Add an order by clause of "object_type,object_name"
3. Under the 'Objects' tab type in one or more objects:
e.g. TABLE <<user>>.<<tablename>>

Click on OK.
The folder now lists ALL objects in the database sorted by the order by clause.

If, for step 1 above, you put in "1 = 2", then it works as desired.

If, for step 2 above, if you remove the order by then it works as desired.

So it seems if you do not put in a where condition and put an order by condition, PLD assumes all objects no matter which objects have been selected in the 'Objects' tab.

If you enter an order by clause or where clause, the Object Browser assumes that this is a Query Based Folder. The Objects tab is also processed though.

OK, I understand. But should be this be a desired behavior?

e.g. I may to create a folder, add some objects manually and add a order by.
This results in the folder having all the objects from the entire database.

(Just thinking out loud) Can you do something like if objects are selected or entered in the 'Objects' tab, do not fetch all database objects?

Thanks,

~Sachin.

I agree that the "order by" should only be for those objects that are entered into the object tab especially if the where tab is empty.
