if you select one empty Colum over more then one line in Editor with 'ALT' key to mark it inline it is working differently if you Start on first line and go down or start on last line and go up.

If you mark one Column over more than one line from first line down and press space, all get one space. If you press Space again only the last line get this.

If you mark one Column over more than one line from last line up and press space, all get one space. If you press Space again all get one space again. This is what i expected fpo both ways.

I cannot immediately reproduce this. Can you send a screenshot or two to visualize this?

I can reproduce that. However, this only works if the selected column is really empty. That means no visible character is marked. So you can not see that a marking has taken place. In this situation, exactly what Mike described happens.
