I clicked on "Check for Online Updates" from within PL/SQL Developer and it sent me to a site where I downloaded version 14.0.0.1962 (plsqldev1400x32.msi).

Immediately after the download finished McAfee complained about it so I sent it to VirusTotal.

VirusTotal said it had two detections for trojans.

McAfee said "In our tests, this download contained porograms some people would consider adware, spyware, or other potentially unwanted programs."

Please advise. I am not installing this until I know it is safe to do so.

It's safe. These false positives unfortunately happen from time to time.

As you can see in the VirusTotal report there are 2 of 61 virus scanning engines that have 2 (false) positives for 2 very old viruses. The other 59 virus scanning engines correctly report it as clean, including McAfee.

Understood. I just wanted to do my due diligence in case my security team brings it up if they see it in the scan logs. Now I can tell them you guys said it was safe smile
