How do I permanently disable the "Show Special Characters" option?

I can uncheck the box but the change is not applied globally, it is only applied to the currently opened tab. So my question is how do I disable it globally and permanently so I don't have to disable it for every single tab/file every time I open PL/SQL Developer?

Version 15.0.3.2059 (64 bit)

I think it should be "Show Special Characters by default" option in Preferences\User Interface\Editor\Tabs & Wrapping...
