Hi Marco,
any news about the next release.
The beta is out for a long time, and now
Greetings and thanks
Jens
We still want to process some feedback before the final 4.1 version is released. I don't have an exact date yet.
Hi Marco,
there are critical bugs in the current version, e.g. a memory leak i told you about in July.
I think it's not right to let people wait so long for a bugfix. I can't tell my customers to get there problems fixed in about one year...
Your Lib is really great work, but if you don't fix the bugs, it is not possible to use it for professional develeopment.
regards,
Ralf
Which memory leak do you mean?

Your Answer:
It seems that this is indeed a memory leak. The LOB's and the list are only freed in case of an exception. We have fixed this for the next release.
...
We'll have a beta for 4.1 available later this week, which adds Unicode support and includes this particular fix.
So:
You ment that you will fix the memory leak in Version 4.1, or not?
But did you have a release date?
Greetings
Jens
The final release is scheduled for January. It was delayed a bit.

some time ago i've asked for a different packaging (2 packages, run - time and design-time) in order to be able to use the "build with runtime packages" build option with DOA.
Is this feature now present ?

DOA 4.1 can process surrogate pair properly??
Im just wondering if DOA4.1 can do it or not.
I second Sergio's request - run and design time packages are a must when an applications uses run-time packages.

- Today it is 17th of January
And today is February 2nd...
It should be out this month.
Will version 4.1 include integrated help for Delphi2006?
Or at least a .chm version of the helpfile?
I am currently developing on Windows Vista and there is no support for old .hlp files anymore in Vista.

Johan Visser

Unfortunately due to some dependencies with PL/SQL Developer we did not make February.

Or hopefully this year :-)
Bevore Duke Nukem Forever (Sorry, can't resist)
What about a Beta-Version for registered User?
There is a beta release for registered users. Marco can give you the details.
Greetings
Jens

We are pressed from custumers needing new features and asking us to switch to other more evolving products. (i.e.

I think it will be early april. We will first release PL/SQL Developer 7.1 by the end of this month, and then Direct Oracle Access 4.1.
Given that PL/SQL Dev was not released yet, is the DOA 4.1 release postponed too?
PL/SQL Developer will be released within 2 weeks, and Direct Oracle Access 4.1 will follow shortly thereafter.
Will DOA version 4.1 use variables in QBE as in previous versions?
Do you have now a release date for DOA 4.1?
Hopefully by the end of this month.

In germany there is a saying: "Die Hoffung stirbt zuletzt."
I would translate this to "The hope will never die."
sorry, delete this post ...
(double post)
Do you have now a release date for DOA 4.1?
Perhaps the last date for it?
We're ironing out the last Unicode compatibility issues, and should be ready this month.
What about a new release date?!
It should be available next week.
Version 4.1 is available on the registered download page now. The trial version will follow in a few days.

is there a list of new features/enhancements for the 4.1 or does this version only add unicode support ?
Best regards
Sergio Sette
The only functional change is that it adds Unicode support compared to 4.0.

Do you confirm that no one of these requests are implemented in 4.1 ?
Best regards

Is there at least a list of changes (i.e. fixes)? And is there a DOA roadmap? <g>
4.1 is just about Unicode. Other enhancement requests will be fulfilled in future releases.

We are waiting for some (promised) new features and fixes...
Best Regards

The time frame should be end of this year / early next year.

is DOA at the end of the road ?
Do you plan to dismiss the product ?
Please be honest, can we wait for more than 1 year to have new features or fixes ?
Best regards

hi.does doa 4.1 support delphi5?
At this point I consider DOA a dead product.
There are no updates.
I have to buy an upgrade from 4.0 to 4.1 for just some unicode support.
There haven't been an new features for a few yeas now.
No info about the new Oracle 11G support.
No integrated help for Delphi 2007
No .NET version.
So, from this moment on, we will stop using DOA for all new projects and fase out all projects that use DOA.
We are very dissapointed with the current development (or better lack of...) of DOA right now.

What you will use for yours new projects, when you stop using DOA?

Most of our new projects will be .NET projects. (C#, no Delphi anymore)
For the few Delphi projects we are investigating 2 options: ODAC and SQLDirect.
Our frustration is not only DOA but Delphi in general.
