Marco, I know that this has been mentioned many times and I want to know what is the road map for fixing this?

It appears that DBMS_DEBUG is one alternative to debugging code. There is a second, DBMS_DEBUG_JDWP. I know that DB version backwards compatibility is a concern.

The debugger hanging is a big time waster. Can anything be done by your team to eliminate this issue? (i.e. use the DBMS_DEBUG_JDWP option?)

This is still on the to-do list. I don't have an exact date though, this still requires some research first.
