In a SQL window you can request the table definition with [Ctrl]+left mouse click over the table name
A corresponding new window is then created, but not brought to the foreground. A new entry with the table name is created in the window list.
If you repeat the process, no new window will be created, but the existing one will be placed in the foreground.
In v14 the edit table window is always shown immediately in the foreground.

This seems to work fine. Can you send one or two screenshots to visualize this to support@allroundautomations.com?

Thanks. It's odd that we cannot reproduce this. Can you change some settings to check if they affect the issue?

  • Change from Menu system to Ribbon system.
  • Change from no SDI tabs to SDI tabs
  • Change from SDI to MDI

Let me know if anything affects the issue.

Yes it seems to have something to do with the SDI setting.
I made 2 short films about it.

The initial situation SDI on: The table editor only opens with ctrl+click twice

Switch to SDI off: The table editor opens immediately

But now it seems to be getting weird....

1. Restoring the initial situation SDI on.
2. Switch SDI off. The windows are not maximized!
3. Maximize a Window results in SDI is switched on automatically
4. Again switching SDI off (same as in point 2)
5. Now open Table Editor by ctrl+click on table name in SQL Window.
Table Editor Window is shown maximized but SDI is still off
6. Close Table Editor. Note the next Window (a Sql Window) is maximized and has resize icons. SDI is still off.
This is a state that I have not been able to reach before. Because maximizing the SQL window always resulted in switching on the SDI.
Here is a short film about it.
