We dont want a Linux version just a wine howto!

Been looking through old posts. Obviously getting a Linux port is not going to come anytime soon but allroundautomation could at least help with wine by saying if PL/SQL works with wine and put up a howto. Ime getting the impression that it does not and we are going to have to use Oracle SQL Developer instead which is a shame because PL/SQL developer is vastly superior.

That was about running with wmware. That triples the cost of using PL/SQL Developer (cos it needs a XP license) and also does a similar thing to the memory footprint?

I think wine is the only option, I am nearly ready to post a HowTo here.

Thank you Qkxy for the link. It is working for me
(Open Suse 10.2, wine-0.9.38-12.1, plsd 7.1.1.1341)
except for:
-A "red x" in the object viewer (as mentioned in this thread http://www.allroundautomations.com/ubb/ultimatebb.php?ubb=get_topic;f=3;t=004266)
-Printing is ugly formatted (which seems to be a font problem)
OK printing seems to work at least when an existing font is selected under plsd/wine.(I transported my personal setup files with the existing font selections from windows)
-Help window shows "HTML rendering in currently disabled"
-plsqldoc plugin shows only empty window
