Hallo,
can i install the new version just over the old one, or had i 1st to deinstall the old version an 2nd install then new version?

Thx

If I try to install the new version then the AA Installer show me this message:

"You are not allowed to install this product"

You can install 6.0.x over 5.1.x, it will replace the current installation and preserve all your modified files and preferences.

Upgrades are covered by the annual service contract. If you do not have a service contract, or if the service contract for your license expired before July 1, 2004, you can upgrade by purchasing a new service contract.

i have installed the newer version and the prefernces on the editor/ syntax highlighting are not coming into effect, even if i change the background color or check the italic check box , it does not take effect.
does any one know what i can do for this to work.

i had this editor problem as well, it drove me crazy. take a backup of your preferences file ( $PLSD_HOME/preferences/$LOGNAME/default.ini ), delete the one in use and then start plsd again. it should recreate the preferences file for you. you can then copy across the missing entries to your old preferences file, or you can recreate your preferences through the gui.

Thanks a lot Richard. This thing got me crazy too. The surprising part was that my colleauge installed the same version from same executable and it worked fine for him.
Thanks ones again.

the difference may have been that you installed it over a ver5 install and your colleauge was a straight 6 install?
