update notification

would it be a big thing to put an "update checker" into the software to notify you when there is a major / point release available?

when going from 5.1.0.662 to 5.1.0.672 or whatever, i have to download the file each time as the website only says 5.1.

As a rule we don't release specific builds of a release. 5.1.0 was an exception though. The customer section of the web site specifies does the patch level (5.1.x) though. Furthermore we send update notifications by e-mail.

We'll consider an update check function. It's not so difficult to implement.
