Update failed

Hello!

there seems to be some kind of bug regarding updating from within the IDE. I tested it with and w/o proyx settings, both with no luck :-(
Sometimes, I even get some kidn of "https protocol not yet implemented" error, but most of the time it just reads "failed"?!?

Version is: 12.0.2.1818 (32 bit)

I'm using version 12.0.3, 64 bit version and have a similar problem.
My update says the latest version is 12.0.2.
In my news, the latest entry is that 12.0 beta is available.

Any tips on how to get it to update? I let PL/SQL Developer through the firewall, but it didn't help. I haven't had to do that before.

The update may not be immediately visible in the update system. You can always get it from the download page.

Brilliant - I can confirm that the built-in Update and News checkers now works in the latest 32bit and 64bit versions (12.03.1821). (Albeit, as you say, still displaying an older version.)

Installed 12.03.1821 (32 bit) and it's still failing the update...

Sadly, I spoke too soon: I still have this problem on my normal PC too - using the same version.

(Worked fine when I tested it on a different laptop a couple of weeks ago.)

Just installed 12.0.4.1826 (32 bit) and it is STILL failing the update?!?

I know this thread is old but posting anyway.

I'm using 12.0.4.1826 (x64) and also having the News/Update failed issue.
At the bottom of the Update/News window it says;

Checking for new updates... Failed

I'm still getting this same problem trying to find online updates to PL/SQL Developer or news. This is with the latest version: 12.05.1828.

Some further information, in case it's any help:

The "..." button in the Updates screen's Status column contains three menu items:

- "Download ..." (disabled)
- "Info ..." (disabled)
- "Order Service Contract..." (enabled, takes me tohttps://www.allroundautomations.com/plsqldevorder.html )

Does this Update screen not think that I'm licensed correctly? The Help | About splash screen knows that I have a 6 user licence, and a service contract due to expire in May.

Furthermore,

- when no Proxy is enabled (at the bottom of the "Updates & News" preferences page):
Attempting to check for Online Updates fails with the following status bar message:

"Checking for new updates... Failed"

- when a Proxy IS enabled (at the bottom of the "Updates & News" preferences page):
Attempting to check for Online Updates fails with the following status bar message:

"Checking for new updates... Failed (Protocol "https" not implemented)"

I hope there's a clue here somewhere which will help resolve this long-running issue.
