Unable to stop Macro Recording

Windows 7. When I start a macro recording, I am unable to stop it. It starts, and the camera icon starts flashing, but pressing the button, hitting F11, or tapping the Macro menu option does not stop it. Thoughts?

This problem occurs also in Windows XP. You can only stop by opening the taskmanager.
After that you can press the f11 button to stop the macro

Sometimes it has something to with a programm what's getting the focus...
