Text Importer

Hi

I'm trying to use the Tools > Text Importer functionality but it refuses to work.

I have some data I've saved variously as .csv, .txt (both comma delimited, and later as tab delimited) but can't get it to import.

I open the file and can see the results in the "Data from Textfile" window, but it doesn't seem to recognise that there are any fields in the file.

I can assign a table on the "Data to Oracle" tab, but the configuration settings still don not populate and attempting to manually assign fields leads to a "no rows imported " message.

I am sure previously I have used this function and it will automatically identify fields (when I have a header row matching the column names), but currently cannot even get it to import a simple two line text file.

Any ideas?

Thanks

Hi

Unfortunately there's business data in the files I can't release to public domain, although I could try to mock something up next week to replicate the error.

I've found that the issue it using the "Copy to Excel" option and saving the data as csv or text. For some reason, when I try to reimport the information I get the error.

If I use the "Export Results > CSV File" (also from the right click context menu) to get me source data, it will then import back into the database (or a different database) correctly.

Hi

I've sent an email to support with an example as I seem to be getting the error still.

Any help appreciated - thanks.
