I know I have raised this before, but the text importer is impossibly slow if importing a large number of records.
I have just loaded 77,000 rows of two fields, which took 187 secs. This is acceptable, but earlier I had to load 850,000 records, again with 2 fields. This looked as it was going to take 4 or 5 hoursm which is simply not acceptable.
As this was an 8.1.7 database, I had to load into an 11G database using SQL Developer - which took 40 seconds, then copy to the older DB. Annoying!
Is it possible to speed this up to at least near the speed of the Oracle product?
