Text Importer bug: definition file is incomplete

The Text Importer is cool, however, when I save a definition file and then open it again, not all the information is saved. It didn't save: the name of the file, field mapping, my "ignore duplicates" choice. Then when I opened the same filename, the "Data to Oracle" tab even lost the owner and tablename. (I could send you screen shots if necessary, but basically the definition should save and recall all choices on both tabs.)

It should have saved all settings, except for the filename. The file you want to import relates to a definition, not the other way around.

We'll try to reproduce and fix the problem though.

It didn't occur to me that you would open the file first and then the definition. When I use it that way, it seems to work correctly, although I haven't tested every feature.

Suggestion: If user tries to open a definition first, warn the user that they should first open the text file that goes with the definition.

Alternate suggestion: Store tablename in the definition file and automatically open the file so that it is a one-step process (like the way I had expected it to work.)

thanks,
pat
