table names being chopped

Oracle 10g

When creating a query report a table is selected the columns are selected, query is built and run.
When returning to edit/update the query the table name is short.

i.e. emp_table returns as emp_tb and the result is no columns are shown.

any help will be greatly appreciated.

Can you send me an example report?

the report runs fine. Its when I return to the
query builder to add columns or modify the where clause.
Not all data is being brought to the query builder workspace.
Is there a way I can send you screen shots?
