Tab key does not work

Hi, since I received my new computer and installed PL/SQL Developer a couple of months ago, my tab key does not work for indenting one line of text or maneuvering around dialog boxes. It does work to indent several lines of code when I highlight them though. I thought this might fix itself with the new version, but it didn't. It's also not my keyboard because the tab key works normal in my other applications (ex., Textpad).

Obviously this doesn't impede me from working with the application everyday, but it is a bit annoying. If anybody could give me a tip for figuring this out, I'd appreciate it.

My preferences for tab are:

Indent: Automatic on, Step = 3
Tabs & Wrapping: Everything off, just Tab size = 3.

(My colleague has his set up the same, and his tab works).

Thanks,

Anna :)

Perhaps Tab is assigned to a function in the Key configuration preferences? If so, assign a different key to this function or clear it by selecting the function in the preferences and pressing Esc.

Hi Marco,

That was it! Although, the odd this is that Tab is set for the "Edit/Selection/Indent" function. I don't remember setting this function to this key and selecting multiple lines and hitting tab still indents them when I unset this key....

I just checked my colleagues Preferences and he has Ctrl + I for the same function. So, either I changed this key setting many moons (and a couple of versions ago) and it worked okay, or something wacky happened. Odd.

Thanks though!! You've solved my niggling frustration. :)

Thanks,

Anna
